Today's thought:  It's only temporary.

When I was still in the business world, one of the women I met said she preferred to work for a temporary agency, taking assignments from a few days to a few weeks or a few months duration.  She explained that in this way, if she didn't like the job or the people, she could tell herself, 'it's only temporary," and she could be happier in the circumstances.

Actually, everything is 'only temporary' when we realize that everything changes on a moment-to-moment basis.  Everything ends, everything passes, everything becomes  something else.  Love deepens or dies, moods change, we learn new things or choose not to, friendships develop, some drift apart.  The same 'temporary' can be seen in nature.  Day becomes night, flowers bloom and die, the seasons change, leaves emerge on trees to be shed at a later date.  Moment-to-moment, all is shifting, changing, temporary.

So, let us enjoy all that we have while it is here to be enjoyed, and let us not despair when 'stuff' happens in our lives that is disturbing or painful.  All will pass, as all is temporary.
