Forgiveness

Thursday, July 31, 2014

Today's thought:  Forgiveness

I forgive myself, unconditionally.  As I learn and grow in wisdom, I realize the past actions from which I feel guilty or ashamed are the result of my level of understanding at that time.  I realize that without forgiveness of the past, there will be no new growth or progress towards my goal of a perfect Oneness with God.  With a new awareness and strength of purpose, I press onward and as God forgives, I forgive myself, unconditionally.

Wishing you the blessing of a forgiving heart that is able to forgive others as you forgive yourselves...and peace, joy, and love, always.

Creative thought.

Wednesday, July 30, 2014

Dear Readers,

Down through the ages, Masters, philosophers, and teachers have told us that we live in the world of our minds, and that thought is a creative process.  The Buddha said: "With our thoughts, we make the world."

Science tells us the same thing.  I would like to share something from the writings of Thomas Hanna, who established the Institute for Somatic Research and Training, in Novato, California.

"What the neurophysiological research of the past several decades tells us is that the kind of thoughts we think determines the quality and effectiveness of our lives.  Because thinking is an action of the entire body that mobilizes the entire sensorimotor system, the nature of our thinking activity automatically determines the nature of our bodily activity.  If we turn the same anxious thoughts over in our minds day after day, then it is certain that we are tensing and activating certain contractions in our bodies day after day.  And it is just as certain that these afflicted parts of our bodies will, through this daily abuse, become fatigued and damaged.

When we think the same thoughts of revenge over and over again, we are activating the muscles and glands of our bodies over and over again.  When we repeat the same thought of disappointment over and over again, we are repeatedly stamping its motor power into the tissues of our body until they sag in forlornness.  When we repeatedly think thoughts or memories of hurt, despair, anger, or fear, we are physically injuring ourselves; we are engaging in self-destruction."

Dear readers, individually and collectively, with our free will and choices, we make the world we live in.  So much easier to blame what we don't like on someone or something 'out there.'  But, for each of us, it all starts within and radiates outward.  To live your best possible life, think your best possible thoughts, act on those thoughts, and the world will be a better place because of them...and you.

Remember to always take care of yourselves.  Treat yourselves gently and with respect.  Walk in dignity and grace.  Remember you are important to God, the Universe, and all those who love you, including me.

                                                                                        Love,

                                                                                        Zizi

P.S. For those who may be interested, there is a wealth of information online on Thomas Hanna, the
Institute he founded, and his books.

Today's thought:  Hope

From the writings of St. Teresa of Avila:

"Let nothing dismay you: all things pass; God never changes.  Patience attains all.

Whoever has God, lacks nothing."

Wishing you the blessings of hope, strength, patience.....and peace, joy and love, always.

Break the cycle.

Monday, July 28, 2014

Today's thought:  Break the cycle.

Some thought patterns, prejudices, and behaviors seem to 'run in the family.'  Children learn not only by what they are told, but also by what they see.  If some negative behavior or thought pattern seems to run in your family, break the cycle, one positive thought at a time.  By breaking the cycle, you free yourself to live your best possible life, and you also free future generations.

Wishing you blessings beyond your wildest dreams...and peace, joy, and love, always.

Be part of the solution.

Sunday, July 27, 2014

Today's thought:  Be part of the solution.

When something comes into your life that you perceive to be a 'problem,' become part of the solution.  If we fill our minds with the problem, there is no room for the ideas that will solve the problem.  There is always a way, and there are always choices.

Wishing you the strength and the peace of mind that will solve any problems you may encounter...and love, always.

Every day, in every way...

Friday, July 24, 2014

Today's thought:  Every day, in every way...

"Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better," is a phrase that was popular some years ago.
I like to add to that, "I am getting healthier and healthier, happier and happier, wealthier and wealthier."

When we repeat positive phrases to ourselves, or out loud, we are opening our minds to all the good in the Universe, created for us by our loving Father God.  With open minds, we listen to our inner guidance, make wiser choices, and live better lives.  We fully consider all ideas that may pop into our minds.  We never know which one will lead to a new relationship, a more rewarding work situation, a better investment of our time and money.

Wishing you overflowing blessings of peace, joy, and love.  Not all of life needs to be serious; have some fun along the way, which will make you healthier and happier.

Always do your best.

Thursday, July 24, 2014

Today's thought:  Always do your best.

This the last of the agreements from the book, "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz.  These are agreements we would make with ourselves.

"Always do your best.  Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick.  Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret."

Wishing you blessings beyond number, peace, joy, and love, always.

Today's thought:  Don't make assumptions.

This is the third agreement from the book, "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz. These are agreements that we would make with ourselves.

"Don't make assumptions.  Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.  Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.  With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life."

Wishing you the blessings of courage, peace, joy, and love, always.

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

Today's thought:  Don't take anything personally.

This is the second of the four agreements (with self) from the book, "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz.

"Don't take anything personally.  Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.  When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering."

Wishing you blessings beyond number, peace, joy, and love, always.

Your word.

Monday, July 21, 2014

Today's thought:  Your word.

From the book, "The Four Agreements," by Don Miguel Ruiz

"Be impeccable with your word.  Speak with integrity.  Say only what you mean.  Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.  Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love."

The above is the first of the four agreements that Don Miguel Ruiz writes about and are agreements that you make with yourself.  It is a beautiful book written for spiritual growth and peace.

Wishing you God's holy Light to guide you safely and peacefully on your spiritual path.

Discernment

Saturday, July 19, 2014

Today's thought:  Discernment

A quote from Maya Angelou:

"When people show you who they are, believe them the first time."

Learn to recognize those who are kind from those who would take advantage.  People of every mindset, from the most spiritual to the most depraved, walk this earth.  So much grief can be avoided when we pay attention, following our intuition and inner guidance.  We can be polite and compassionate, without becoming targets or victims.

Wishing you the blessing of discernment, wisdom, and peace, joy, and love, always.

Never too late...

Friday, July 18, 2014

Today's thought:  Never too late...

It is never too early, or never too late to adopt a positive attitude, start a new hobby, learn something new, let go of a habit that is not in your best interests, love yourself as God loves you, decide to be happy, be kind to all living things, pursue a deeper spiritual life.

It is never too early, or never too late to live according to your heart's desires.  It is always the perfect now.

Wishing you the blessing of the perfect "now" moment when you realize that all you desire can be yours..... and peace, joy, and love, always.

Love,

Nothing is by chance.

Tuesday, July 15, 2014

Today's thought:  Nothing is by chance.

Nothing is by chance.  We come together because we have a divine appointment in time to learn from one another, thereby enriching our life's experiences.  Each one of us is special and necessary to the overall plan of spiritual evolvement  for all humanity.

We come into this world in different-sized and different-colored packages which we call bodies.  Sometimes we allow others and/or the media to convince us that our package is less than perfect, and that the shape, size, or color is somehow wrong.  Sometimes we draw apart from others because we feel we don't fit in, or we're not one of the so-called beautiful people or chosen few.  We forget that each of us is uniquely different and special according to God's divine plan.  We have special gifts to give for the betterment and edification of all.  We each have a different purpose and a different contribution to make.

At times, we may forget how truly marvelous it is that each of us is different.  If we all looked alike, thought alike, and talked alike, there would be no variety, no growth, no challenges, no opportunities to learn something new.  Each of us contributes something to the overall advancement of humanity that no one else can.  You and I and our talents are needed.  Everything and everyone is beautiful and important in the eyes of God.  Nothing is by chance.  Accept yourself.  Love yourself.  Be grateful for yourself.

Wishing you blessings beyond number, peace, joy, and love, always.

Love and blessings.

Monday, July 14, 2014

Today's thought:  Love and blessings.

If you would be loved...love.  Send out love and blessings, the world and all its people are so in need of both; and know that love and blessings will flow back to you.  Our thoughts are vibrations, transmitting throughout the Universe, going full circle and returning, bringing more of the same.  Once we understand and accept this, we realize the absolute folly of thinking of and holding onto negativity, guilt, resentment, anger, upset, and a host of other destructive emotions, which are destructive mostly to us.  Unless and until we are ready to release the past, there is no new today, just yesterday.....again.

Send out love and blessings.  Everyone, including you, will benefit from them.

Wishing you blessings beyond number, peace, joy, and love, always.

Thanks, Dad.

Sunday, July 13, 2014

Today's thought:  Thanks, Dad.

Today would have been my father's birthday.  My father died when I was in my late teens, long before I had acquired the understanding and wisdom to fully appreciate the person he was: my father, my ally, my friend.
Although I have thanked him many times in my heart through the years, how much better it would have been to have thanked him while he was alive and with us.

For those of you who still have fathers here with you, thank them now, while they can still hear the words.  For those whose fathers no longer walk the earth, thank them in your hearts and in your prayers.  There are no barriers to love; your father will get the message and smile.

Thanks again, Dad, a million times, and Happy Birthday!!!

Wishing all of you, and your fathers, blessings beyond measure, peace, joy, and love, always.

Today's thought:  Know the rules.

In any given situation, there are rules.  For your own protection and well-being, know the rules.  Then, should you choose not to follow them, there will be no surprises at the consequences.  All choices have consequences; some, very good indeed; some, not so much.

Pray for humanity.

Friday, July 11, 2014

Today's thought:  Pray for humanity.

Every prayer is vital for the overall well-being and peace on the planet.  In the same way that every drop of water is vital to fill the glass, every prayer is vital to the salvation of ourselves, individually and collectively.

Some years ago, in reading some material from the White Eagle Lodge, I came across this prayer for humanity, which they say every day.  The suggestion to those who wish to say this prayer, is that it be said several times during the day, at 3:00 o'clock, 6:00 o'clock, 9:00 o'clock, and noon or midnight.  It takes just a minute or so, and when many are praying together at the same time, the power of the prayer increases.  "Where two or more are gathered in My name, there am I in the midst of them," doesn't have to be in the same room.  Through the years, I may have added a phrase or two to the original prayer.  Nevertheless, if these words touch your heart, let us pray together.  We are all children of the same God.

"We hold all humanity in the golden Light of the Christ Star and see the love, power, and wisdom of the Son of God at work in the hearts of all people.  God's holy Light shines in, through, and for all men, all life; all the earth, all the universe; all space, all time.  Angels of Peace, enfold us all with your wings of Light. Amen.  Angels of Peace, enfold us all with your wings of Light.  Amen.  Angels of Peace, enfold us all with your wings of Light. Amen."

Wishing you blessings beyond measure, peace, joy, and love, always.

Food

Thursday, July 10, 2014

Daughters of my heart, and other readers

Last year, after a conversation about food and how it is sometimes negatively portrayed in the media and diet industry,  I wrote a letter to two of my nieces on my thoughts about food.  With a few minor changes, here is the letter:

"My dear nieces,

I would like to share with you the prayer I say before meals.

"For your healing, nourishing, life-giving food, Your sacred, beautiful food in its infinite variety, Heavenly Father, Mother, Friend, Beloved God, I am deeply grateful and thank You.

Precious bodies, Earth Divine, Father Sun, Sister Rain, all the hands through all the years, I am deeply grateful and thank You.

With gratitude, I welcome this food into my body to heal, nourish, and comfort me.  Amen."

The "precious bodies" is a reference to our own bodies, physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.  "All the hands through all the years" refers to those who, from the beginning, labored to till the soil, cherish the earth, and saved seeds so they, along with future generations and future civilizations, could have food and, therefore, life.

Food is a huge, huge, gift.  There is no life without it.  Food is not the enemy.  Food is not 'bad.'  Food is not sinful.  Food is a privilege.  Food is one of the many blessings that God pours down upon us "in full measure, pressed down, and overflowing."

It may be an error in judgement to eat half a bag of cookies, or a quart of ice cream, or a bag of chips all at one time, but it does not make you a bad person because of it.  It would not be a healthy choice, and if we make those choices, then we are also choosing the results of those choices.  There are no choices without end results.

I hope my few words cause you to look at food in a different light.  Please don't take for granted, or demean in any way, a lifetime of food we have been privileged to enjoy.  Love the body designed to taste, swallow, enjoy and digest food, distributing its nutrients throughout the body to give it health, energy, and strength.  Love your beautiful, perfect body.  Love, bless, and appreciate the body that is perfect for you at this time.  Be grateful to your body for all that it has done for you, and for all you are able to do because of it.

Everything in Nature responds to love and attention.  Love, bless and appreciate your body, and your beautiful, perfect body will respond and reward you with health, strength, and long life."

Daughters of my heart and other readers,  remember to always take care of yourselves with respect.  Walk in dignity and grace.  You are important to God, the Universe, and all those who love you, including me.

Wishing you blessings without measure, peace, joy, and love, always.

Anger

Wednesday, July 9, 2014

Today's thought:  Anger

From the writings of the Buddha:

"You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger."

"Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned."

Whatever I do, returns to me.  Whatever you do, returns to you.  Some call this Universal Law.  Some call this God's law.  Some call this karma.  Regardless of the name you give it, intent is what begins the process.
It isn't what we say that determines the outcome; it is what we think and feel in our hearts that determines the outcome for us.

Wishing you blessings beyond measure, peace, joy, and love, always.

Labels separate us.

Tuesday, July 8, 2014

Today's Thought:   Labels separate us.

When we identify others with negative labels pertaining to race, ethnicity, culture, intelligence, financial status or physical attributes, we are separating them from us, and making them less than us.  We are all connected, whether we like it or not, because we are all children of God. We are all connected through our ancestors, from the beginning.  And we are connected because we are dependent on one another in hundreds of ways.  We cannot, by ourselves, grow our own food, weave our own clothing, provide the energy that keeps us warm when winter comes and cool when summer comes.  We cannot make our own appliances, cars, shoes, chop the wood to build a house; the list is endless.  Each of us is important because each of us contributes to the whole.  Each of us is important, or we wouldn't be here.

We are all children of God.  We are all connected.

Blessings.  Peace, joy, and love, always.

Pray for peace. Be at peace.

Monday, July 7, 2014

Today's thought:  Pray for peace.  Be at peace.

We are all, individually and collectively, responsible for peace, or the lack of it, on the planet.  We contribute to peace on a daily basis with our thoughts, words, and actions.  Whatever we think, say, or do affects us first of all and most of all, and then goes out into the atmosphere attracting like thoughts, words, and actions, returning them to us on an individual and collective basis.  We are all responsible for peace or the lack of it.

Wishing you blessings beyond measure and peace, joy, and love, always.

Freedom

Friday, July 4, 2014

Today's thought:  Freedom

Whatever your plans are to celebrate Independence Day, take time to remember all those who sacrificed their lives for the cause.  Each of those men and women was someone's child, someone's brother or sister, perhaps someone's spouse, someone's father or mother.

Remember all who have served, all who have suffered, those who returned, and those who did not. Remember them all.  Bless them all.  Pray for them all.  Each of them played a vital role in keeping us free.   And millions paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we enjoy.

Remember, and be grateful.

Peace.  Joy.  Love.

Inner Guidance

Thursday, July 3, 2014

Today's thought:  Inner Guidance

All that has been created has been created to serve us, not to master us.  All is for our good, if it is used for good purposes.  Unless we are children, none of us needs to be told by another what is good for us and what is not.  Our own inner Self gives us that message, if not with a loud shout then with a vague uneasiness that will not be quieted or dismissed.  If we constantly need to rationalize our choices and behavior, we can be sure ego is in control.  If our minds and hearts are at peace as we go about our daily activities, then we can know that we are following the guidance of our own indwelling Lord and all is as it should be.  The choice is ours.  God is always there, guiding us, loving us, but the choice as to whether we will listen and allow ourselves to be guided, is ours alone.

May your lives be filled with blessings beyond number, peace, joy, and love.

God first.

Wednesday, July 2, 2014

Today's thought:  God first.

Mistakenly we sometimes believe that to choose God first means to give up everything else whereas, in reality, to choose God first guarantees the receival of everything else for our highest good.  How many times do we limit God by giving Him man's attributes, constricting them even more by our own limited understanding and consciousness.  We sacrifice limitless good and deny ourselves infinite joy, peace, love, and wisdom when we lose sight of the fact that God is greater than man's comprehension of Him.

"But seek you first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you."  Matthew 6:33

Wishing you blessings beyond measure, peace, joy, and love.

Tea-bag philosophy

Tuesday, July 1, 2014

Today's thought:  Tea-bag philosophy

We can learn something from everyone and everything when we take the time to observe, read, and/or listen.  I sometimes save the little tags that come with some brands of tea, and put them in a place where I will see them every day, so that I will absorb the message.  Two of messages I wanted to become a part of me are:

"Those who live in the past limit their future."  It is so easy to blame someone/something from the past for our present condition, and so important to learn what we can from the past and move on.   The past is gone; that ship has sailed.

"Be kind to every living thing."  Every living thing was once a thought in the mind of God, and has the breath of life within it.  Be kind, especially to one another.  We all need kindness in order to grow and become our best selves.

Take care.  Love you,

Zizi
