Today's thought: Wherever we are, God is.
Unity has an annual World Day of Prayer each September. Printed below is their prayer for 2001, a wonderful reminder for any day of any year.
"The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are, God is!"
There is a tendency to think that God is only outside of us, surrounding and protecting us. God is also within us as spirit, life and breath. Our physical bodies house the Spirit of God, without whom there is no life. When we can fully understand and accept that, and realize that God is in every living thing, we will become peaceful within ourselves and respect our fellow human beings, and all other forms of life to which we are connected. There is no separation, neither from God nor from all other life.
