Today's thought:  Food

Food is life for the body.  That fact seems to be brushed aside in all the fuss and furor about diets and calories, and their associated guilt.  Our attitude about food plays a role in whether we enjoy it, and in how our bodies process it.  

  Food eaten hurriedly or when we are stressed is not as beneficial as food which is consumed in a relaxed state.  Before you begin eating, take a moment to quiet your mind.  You may want to add this sentence to your prayer before meals:  "With gratitude, I welcome this food into my body to heal, nourish, and comfort me."

With Thanksgiving just past and the Christmas holidays ahead, be mindful of what you choose to eat and enjoy it.  Food is the source of life and energy.

Prayer is food for the soul.  Be grateful.  Let every step, every breath, every beat of your heart be a "Thank You, God" for all that you have and for all that is.
